The former president of the Haitian Football Federation has decided to sue the independent journalist for defamation, following an investigation published in April 2020 in the British newspaper “the guardian”.
This publication on accusations of sexual abuse of young players at the FIFA GOAl center in Croix-des-Bouquets by the former strongman of the said federation, had given rise to an internal FIFA investigation, banishing Dadou for life. any football-related activity.
As an organization working to defend press freedom and protect journalistic sources, RSF asked the investigating judge to declare that there is no need to continue the proceedings.
The adjudicatory chamber of the independent Ethics Commission had found Yves Jean-Bart, president (at that time) of the Haitian Football Federation guilty of abuse of power and sexual assault on several female footballers (including minors) in violation of the FIFA Code of Ethics, had informed FIFA in a statement issued in November 2020.
Dadou had been expelled from the head of the Haitian football federation and replaced by a normalization committee which will end in November 2022.
The former number one of the FHF had denied all the allegations against him as soon as the investigation came out in April 2020. Dadou had declared that he was innocent and would be the victim of a plot by his detractors.
In the same vein, the former Haitian football leader sued Romain Molina for defamation in France. Already a similar approach has been undertaken by Dadou in Haiti, this time with a complaint filed with the prosecutor's office of Croix-des-Bouquets against X for defamation and insults.
In addition, two (2) complaints were filed in December 2020 with the prosecutor's office of Croix-des-Bouquets, from a former player and a former executive of the federation, confirmed the then government commissioner Me Elder Guillaume .
